  • Tour the nursery on your own or with a guided tour group and see the projects underway.

As part of the tour this year we will have artists at honeywood with samples of their artwork to view and buy with ongoing demonstrations throughout the two days:
  • Ruby Hannigan: Bees wax candles, Honey and Landscapes in oil, Quilts

  • Lorraine Adamson:Lorraine enjoys turning simple clay into functional items on the wheel, hand building pieces that push conventional limits and the unpredictable reaction of earth and fire that result. 747-2704  ladamson@skyvelocity.ca

  • Art Jones: Wood turning and wood carving. Art is a long term member of the Sask Wood Workers Guild.

Canadian Prairie Lily Society annual show – July 22nd & 23rd

The Canadian Prairie Lily Society annual show is held in Saskatoon each year. It will be held at The Mall at Lawson Heights on July 22nd & 23rd.

We will once again have a display and information table set up as part of the show. Please come by and say hello.

  • Pickup an assortment of lilies for fall planting.
  • Creations by local craftspeople will be on display for your viewing pleasure.
  • Be entertained by the music of local musicians.
  • Refreshments and dessert served in the Porter Home.

Our Nursery is open to the public and we invite you to visit us this summer. There are many beautiful sights at the Nursery throughout the year.

The best times to visit:

  • Fruit trees begin blooming by the 2nd week of May and continue for about 3 weeks.
  • Lilacs flower in early June.
  • Peonies bloom from late June and into early July.
  • The first lilies start blooming at the end of June and continue until the beginning of August
  • Peak lily bloom is generally from mid-July until the end of July.
  • Various fruits begin ripening by mid-August.
  • Fall colors start their show by mid-September and last well into October.

Enjoy the various specialty flowerbeds located in the main yard and throughout the nursery including:

  • the Memorial Garden, a display of the Porter Lily and Fruit introductions;
  • the Allan Daku Garden, planted and maintained by the Walter Willoughby Horticultural Society, in recognition of his many years at the nursery;
  • "Winnie's" Annual Flower Bed, planted in tribute to Mrs. Porter.
  • The Species lily bed planted in 2006 and the Canadian Breeders Lily garden (2008) consist of lilies sold at Honeywood through the years.
  • The Canadian Breeders Lily garden will also feature lilies from the 1st lily list sent out in 1955.

Take home a piece of Honeywood:

  • A variety of potted Asiatic Lilies are available for sale.
  • Choose your favorite lilies from our fields for fall delivery.
  • Rhubarb, Plums, Apples, Crab Apples, Chokecherries and Sandcherries available for U–Pick
  • The beautiful and popular ‘Cooking with Honeywood’ cookbook full of old fashioned recipes.
  • ‘A Taste of Honeywood’ choose from the large variety of jellies, jams & salsa made specifically for Honeywood from the fruit grown at the nursery.
  • Purchase a Honeywood CD to share with your friends & family. The CD is a PowerPoint presentation that can be played on most computers. It is a visual tour of the history and scenes that make up Honeywood.
  • Gift Certificates available
